TESTING

Student testing is not required by the State of California. However, we suggest that you consider administering a standardized test to you child. While we recognize that this battery of tests is only a public school standard, it can however be a useful tool to aid you in assessing your child’s knowledge and progress in these selected areas. All sixth grade and eighth grade students are required to take a standardized test. This test will be selected and proctored by the school administration. Failure to meet this requirement will result in student’s enrollment being terminated. For students with significant learning and/or classroom difficulties, a request for exemption may be submitted, in writing, no less than 60 days prior to the beginning of testing. This must be followed up with a call to the Director. Such requests are subject to approval by the school administration, and may be subject to modification as considered necessary by the school administration. Requests must be accompanied by objective evidence of the child’s academic stability.

DAY SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT

Home school students have the opportunity to participate in Calvary Christian School’s (CCS) day school. Areas of involvement vary from year to year depending upon what is being offered. Typically, students are able to participate in dance, baton, sports, drama, choir, academic classes and weekly chapel services (not all grades can participate in all of the activities listed). Except for chapel, all of these opportunities require an additional fee not covered by your PSP tuition fees. Members will be informed of what opportunities are available by the administration.

CURRICULA

The PSP does not provide any curriculum. We believe each student is truly unique and that each has a distinctive learning style given to him or her by their Creator. Therefore, the student’s parents are best qualified to discern and select the individual curriculum that will be most effective for their child.
